TB People Philippines held an educational event in the Payatas community
On April 14, 2026, the TB People Philippines team joined an educational initiative in the Payatas community (Quezon City, Philippines), where they held an educational event on tuberculosis (TB).
The event was organized by the WOW (Wellness On Wheels) initiative, which provided residents with access to comprehensive medical services, including tuberculosis screening and laboratory tests for non-communicable diseases. This format of mobile services helps increase the accessibility of medical care for vulnerable communities.
The TB People Philippines team actively supports such initiatives, which help bring quality healthcare services closer to the people most affected by health issues. The event also featured a presentation of the digital tool OneImpact PH, created in partnership with the Stop TB Partnership. The platform provides users with convenient access to information about TB, support services, and opportunities to receive assistance—right from their smartphones.
The organizers expressed their gratitude to key partners and experts who joined the event, including Dr. Mildred Vitangcol, Dr. Joseph Manapsal, and Ms. Lia Kessadi (WOW) for their invitation and support of TB People Philippines’ advocacy efforts.
Special thanks were extended to EHealthcare Inc. for its consistent participation in events and provision of free laboratory services, which significantly expands opportunities for early diagnosis.
TB People Philippines also acknowledged the support of its partner Getz Healthcare Philippines (a division of Getz Bros. Philippines, Inc.), which enables the implementation of advocacy and educational initiatives for people affected by tuberculosis.
Such events demonstrate the importance of partnerships, innovative approaches, and working directly with communities to effectively respond to TB and improve access to healthcare services.
