TB Has a Face

Year 2025

The TB Has a Face campaign was implemented in May 2025 as a people-centred communication initiative by TBpeople. Its primary objective was to address stigma and discrimination against people undergoing TB treatment or those with personal experience of the disease. The campaign sought to demonstrate that behind the statistics are real people, their stories, families, professional experiences, challenges and achievements.

The campaign targeted both the general public and people affected by TB, as well as their families and close personal networks. Other important audiences included healthcare professionals, journalists, digital content creators, representatives of public institutions and international organisations, and members of patient-led and human rights networks.

Through personal testimonies, photographs and short stories, campaign participants highlighted the diversity of people affected by TB. The campaign also emphasised the value of lived experience and the need to involve communities in shaping TB policies and programmes.

Materials were disseminated through Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, TBpeople’s online resources and the communication channels of its national offices and country-level organisations.
