We Demand Fair Funding from Global Fund!

Year 2024
The We Demand Fair Funding from the Global Fund! campaign was implemented by the TBpeople network in October 2024 to draw attention to insufficient funding for tuberculosis responses in countries with a high burden of the disease. Its primary objective was to advocate for a fair and proportionate allocation of resources by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, while strengthening the role of TB-affected communities in decision-making processes.
The campaign targeted the leadership and representatives of the Global Fund, donor-country governments, international organisations, national tuberculosis programmes, technical experts, civil society organisations and patient-led organisations. At the same time, it sought to mobilise communities of people with lived experience of TB and enable them to collectively advocate for fair funding.
Representatives of national TBpeople networks from Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia joined the campaign. Particular attention was given to the need for increased investment in TB diagnosis, treatment, prevention and support, especially for vulnerable and underserved population groups.
Information and advocacy materials were disseminated through TBpeople’s social media channels and online resources, community partner networks, international professional platforms and thematic global health events. The campaign used visual materials, joint statements, personal stories and calls to action addressed to donors and international partners.
